On 21 February 2024, in the framework of implementation of European project “RESILIENCE” was held at the premises of AU library a scientific activity enabled in collaboration between “Albanian University” and Albanian Inter-religious Council, represented by Secretary General, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Genti Kruja.
The activity was opened by Prof.Dr. Kaliopi Naska, who in her greeting speech pointed to the engagement of “Albanian University” in the European project RESILIENCE, which together with Albanian religious communities is attracting attention toward culture, cultural heritage and history, making evident values created and preserved in the course of centuries by them in Albania. The scientific research infrastructure developed through this activities will shed light on treasures of Albanian religious culture. This project is the best opportunity to promote these traditions worldwide, offering Albanian and European scholars the possibility to further learn and develop studies on rewriting Albanian people history. Furthermore, the activity focused on the presentation of Assoc.Prof. Dr. Genti Kruja, lecturer at Bedër University, who talked about the: “History of Inter-religious Coexistence in Albania: progress and challenges”. He presented documents to explain the progress of the inter-religious coexistence in Albania, as well as explained the respective challenges of Inter-religious Dialogue.
Thanks to his study work, scientific publications in this field, participation in numerous national and international conference, in his capacity as external expert of OSCE/ODIHR for freedom of faith and recently as President of European National Inter-religious Bodies, Religions for Peace Europe, he brought the European experience in this field, highlighting the increase of dialogue focusing on religious diversity, which consists of a growing challenge for the European society and a need for mutual understanding of the peaceful coexistence between religious. Students and lecturers participating at the meeting were very pleased with the scientific aspect presented during the event and had the opportunity to gain precious knowledge on the role of inter-religious coexistence in Albania and were active with questions and discussions. At the end of this activity, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Genti Kruja donated to AU library his monography “History of Inter-religious Dialogue”, published in 2023.
