In the framework of scientific research infrastructure RESILIENCE (European project), “Albanian University” together with World Bektashi Center, on occasion of the 112 anniversary of Declaration of Independence of Albania, held on 12 November 2024 the scientific activity on “Role of Bektashi Dignitaries in Declaration of Independence and Preservation and Enrichment of National Values”, which was underlined by head of Bektashi Order His Excellence Haji Dede Edmond Brahimaj, providing a lot of data and arguments about the Bektashi patriots who dedicated their activity and life to the fight for independence of the country that consist of a precious heritage for the Albanian people. A contribution for organisation of this activity was offered by historian Prof. Dr. Kaliopi Naska, who highlighted the importance of engagement of “Albanian University” in this project and expressed gratitude for the Bektashi World Center for its contribution in enrichment of knowledge of students and scientific researchers with information regarding history and cultural heritage of this community in cooperation with all the religious communities in the Albania. In this respect was held also the opening of exhibition “Bektashism and Independence” by Mr. Nuri Çuni, Secretary General of World Bektashi Center, which reflects the role of Bektashism in Declaration fo Independence, as well as preservation and enrichment of patriotic values for the nation.
Attending the activity were Rector of “Albanian University”, Prof. Dr. Pavllo Kongo, lecturers and students, who expressed their interest about history and values as well as the great national contribution that this belief has given for Declaration of Independence and reflection of national ideal in religious cults. The AU Rector praised this cooperation and support in joint activities in implementation of this project, well as thanked the Head of Bektashi Order, Haji Dede Edmond Brahimaj for donation of some historical books published by the World Bektashi Center in relation to enrichment of the university library, also for donation of an issue of journal Urtësia (Wisdom) to all the participating students.
