Scientific workshop of AU with Orthodox Theological Academy «Ngjallja e Krishtit» in Shën Vlash Durrës, under the auspices of RESILIENCE project

On April 25, 2025, a scientific workshop was held at the Orthodox Theological  Academy «Ngjallja e Krishtit» in Shën Vlash Durrës, in the framework of  scientific research infrastructure of the European project RESILIENCE, which was organized thanks to the cooperation between “Albanian University” and  Orthodox Theological Academy «Ngjallja e Krishtit» in Shën Vlash Durrës, represented by the guest speaker Phd. Thoma Shkira, lecturer in the Department Theology and Culture at “LOGOS” University College. In his presentation “Activity of Theologic Academy “Ngjallja e Krishtit”, Shën Vlash, Durrës”, he focused on the difficult situation and liquidation of Orthodox Church during communist era, opening of the orthodox seminar immediately after freedom of faith in Albania, which was transformed into a Theological   Academy and since 2018 as the Department of Theology and Culture of Logos University College, while its activities aim to strengthen inter-religious coexistence in harmony in the entire Albanian society. With its graduates as clerics, catechists and teachers, it continues to contribute for more than three decades until today in religious and social sectors inside and outside the country. AU students accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gilberta Hadaj AU coordinator of this project, attentively heard the explanations and with their questions expressed interest about the scientific aspect of this academy. Students visited venues of the Department of Theology and Culture, Campus II of “Logos” University College, which is located in the Shën Vlash Monastery and got acquainted with the classes, church, eating room, women premise, children home “Shpresa”, introduced by one of the hosts Mrs. Ana Kushi. An highlight of the activity was the visit in the library of Theological Academy, where Prof. Dr. Kaliopi Naska organizor and speaker in the this scientific workshop donated the AU journal “OPTIME” and expressed gratitude for commitment of the scholars in treatment of this topic and presentation of national contribution of this community and Academy for the religious harmony, in service of the Albanian nation.
